Our Story: A Passion for Cheerleading and Community
At E&E Cheer, we founded our program with a simple yet powerful vision: to make cheerleading accessible to every child in Lower Merion. Our journey began when we noticed a significant gap in our community—no recreational cheerleading programs existed for kids who wanted to explore this dynamic sport. In Lower Merion, the only options for cheerleading were either joining an intense All-Star cheer team or waiting until high school to try out for the school squad. We knew this needed to change.
As passionate advocates for youth sports and community engagement, we created E&E Cheer to provide a welcoming, inclusive environment where kids of all ages and skill levels could experience the joy, teamwork, and confidence that cheerleading fosters. Our mission is to bridge the gap by offering recreational cheerleading programs that prioritize fun, skill-building, and personal growth over high-stakes competition.
The Problem: Limited Access to Cheerleading in Lower Merion
In Lower Merion, cheerleading opportunities for young kids are scarce. Unlike other sports like soccer or basketball, which have recreational leagues for beginners, cheerleading is often locked behind the doors of competitive All-Star programs. These programs, while excellent for dedicated athletes, can be intimidating, expensive, and time-intensive, making them inaccessible for many families. For kids who just want to try cheerleading, learn the basics, and have fun, there are few—if any—options.
Moreover, the lack of early exposure to cheerleading means that many kids don’t get the chance to develop the skills and confidence needed to join a high school team. By the time they reach high school, they may feel unprepared or discouraged, missing out on the opportunity to participate in a sport that promotes teamwork, discipline, and school spirit. This gap not only limits individual growth but also weakens the pipeline for strong, competitive high school cheer programs in Lower Merion.
Our Solution: Recreational Cheerleading for All
E&E Cheer is solving this problem by introducing recreational cheerleading programs designed specifically for kids in Lower Merion. Unlike All-Star cheer, which focuses on intense training and national competitions, our recreational programs emphasize accessibility, fun, and skill development. We welcome kids of all ages, from beginners to those with some experience, and provide them with the tools they need to succeed.
Our programs focus on:
Skill-Building: Teaching the fundamentals of cheerleading, including cheers, stunts, tumbling, and dance, in a supportive environment.
Confidence and Teamwork: Fostering self-esteem and collaboration through group activities that celebrate every child’s contributions.
Affordability and Accessibility: Offering low-cost programs to ensure that every family in Lower Merion can participate, regardless of financial barriers.
Fun and Engagement: Creating a positive, encouraging atmosphere where kids can fall in love with cheerleading without the pressure of competition.
By starting kids early, we’re giving them the opportunity to grow in the sport, build a strong foundation, and gain the confidence to pursue cheerleading at higher levels if they choose. Whether they go on to join a high school team or simply enjoy cheerleading as a fun activity, our goal is to make the sport accessible to everyone.
Why This Matters for Lower Merion
E&E Cheer’s recreational programs don’t just benefit individual kids—they strengthen the entire Lower Merion community. By introducing cheerleading at a younger age, we’re creating a pipeline of skilled, confident cheerleaders who can elevate the quality of high school cheer programs. A stronger high school team means more competitive performances, greater school spirit, and a tighter-knit community.
Additionally, cheerleading offers unique benefits for kids, including physical fitness, leadership skills, and a sense of belonging. By providing these opportunities early, we’re helping kids develop into well-rounded individuals who contribute positively to their schools and community. Our programs also give parents an affordable, local option for their kids to stay active and engaged in a sport they love.
